Clara Claudia Maney, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant.  Clara was born on October 13, 1922 in Isabella County, the daughter of Lanson Charles and Josephine Olive (Lockwood) Elliott.  On September 3, 1946, she married Oliver Dave Maney in Mt. Pleasant.

Clara was employed as a cook for Central Michigan Community Hospital for 20 years.  She loved to golf, bowl, walk, play bingo and cards

 and tinker in her garden with her flowers. 

Survivors include her children: David and Toni Maney of Riverdale, Bruce Maney of Shepherd, Donald Maney, Chuck and Hannah Maney, Joe and Shelley Maney and Sue and Jeff Jones, all of Mt. Pleasant.  Also fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Clara was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, three brothers, two sisters and one brother-in-law.

A service celebrating Clara’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the Rowley Funeral Home with Rev. Connie Bongard officiating.  Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery beside her husband.  Friends and family will gather on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.  Friends desiring to remember Clara with a memorial contribution have been asked to consider the Isabella County Commission on Aging.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
